Riham Arram is a certified UNESCO expert for intangible Cultural Heritage and the implementation of 2003
convention of UNESCO. Arram is an archaeologist with a Ph.D. in Ancient Egyptian civilization and a wealth
of experience in tourism field. She worked as expert in value chain analysis and product development with
international entities and has a large experience in community engagement policies and activities. She was
the founder and General Manager of the heritage department in Cairo governorate for 10 years, where she has
been a part of many projects focusing on the old city of Historic Cairo inscribed on the World Heritage
List, before starting her own business in cultural development. She participated in managing projects with
the aim of revival of intangible cultural Heritage such as handicrafts and other creative industries of
'Historic Cairo' & Luxor Governorate and promoting them on both National and International level. She
cooperated in the file of nomination of Cairo as creative city for Handicrafts & folk arts in 2017 for
'UNESCO Creative Cities Network' and was the focal point at its nomination. A member of the board of Arts &
Culture Complex of Helwan University, she is working also on the implementation of the UNESCO convention of
2005 on the protection and promotion of cultural expressions.
